“Elon Musk used Starlink to rig the 2024 election.”
The facts: There is no evidence Starlink changed a single vote. Swing state election officials told the AP that tabulators and ballot-marking devices are never connected to the internet; some rural counties used Starlink only for voter check-in. Nearly all 2024 votes were cast on paper and checked in audits, and CISA found no malicious activity that materially affected the election. The rumor came back in September after NPR verified Oct. 6, 2024 texts in which Musk wrote that he had over 10,000 "lasers in space." Musk's lawyer says that refers to the laser links between Starlink satellites. An odd text is not a rigged count.
