Active Force and coercion
Criminal charges used to influence election workers
Criminal investigations, searches, and charges are used, or threatened, against election officials, election workers, and the groups that register voters, to pressure them over how they do their jobs. Many such reviews find nothing, but the pressure can change what officials and groups are willing to do.
What has happened
- DOJ warned Los Angeles County officials they risk prosecution as aiders and abettors if they knowingly count ballots from people on its noncitizen list. No one has been charged. California joins the map, now 4 states.
