DC National Guard, Joint Task Force-DC

Armed National Guard personnel were filmed gathered around a DC ballot drop box during the June primary, and one said they had not been told to avoid drop boxes. Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton demanded answers June 11 and got no reply. Guard and police are supposed to stay at least 50 feet from voting sites and drop boxes. A video now circulating shows soldiers at the Foggy Bottom drop box, 23rd and I Streets NW, stamped Oct. 8. That date is unverified. DC drop boxes open for the general Oct. 9. The DC Guard answers to the president, not the mayor.
