DHS Homeland Security Investigations

Records released October 7 show Homeland Security Investigations reviewed voter registration nonprofits for signs of noncitizen registration, at least 82 in Pennsylvania and 41 in New Jersey, with groups in Ohio, Minnesota, and DC also named. Many reviews found nothing, including no derogatory information on the New Jersey groups. In June, officials explored sending undercover agents against groups suspected of helping noncitizens register, but the records do not show agents were deployed. DHS says the voter file analysis was run by USCIS, not HSI. Most of the 166 pages are redacted.
