Will Alabama's election officials refuse to certify the results if their party loses? Not confirmed.

The rumor is Unverified

“Alabama's top election officials are all election deniers, so they won't certify the results if their party loses.”

The fact

Alabama's three certifying officials, Gov. Kay Ivey, Attorney General Steve Marshall and Secretary of State Wes Allen, each backed efforts to cast doubt on the 2020 result.

Whether that means they would refuse to certify a loss is unproven. In 2024 all three certified Democrat Shomari Figures's House win in a district the state fought in court, and in 2017 Ivey and Marshall certified Democrat Doug Jones's Senate win over a fraud suit. None has said they will refuse to certify in 2026.
