“Sherrod Brown supports forcing childhood sex change surgery.”
The facts: Sherrod Brown has not said he supports forcing any surgery on children. A Senate Leadership Fund ad in the Ohio Senate race makes that claim, based on his 2023 statement that a child's health care decisions belong to the child, the parents, and their doctors, not politicians, and on his opposition to a bill banning gender-affirming care for minors. Opposing a ban is not the same as forcing a procedure. PolitiFact rated the ad False.
