Were Maine absentee ballots secretly shipped to a nonprofit in Maryland? No.
The rumor is False
“Maine covered up an incident where it accidentally sent a Soros-linked non-profit a box of blank ballots.”
The fact
This is a 2025 case, and the box held blank absentee ballot return envelopes, not ballots.
In October 2025, an out-of-state organization contacted Maine's Secretary of State to report it appeared to have Maine return envelopes, and Secretary Shenna Bellows disclosed it publicly days later; Maine Public later confirmed the recipient was a Maryland organization. Bellows switched ballot couriers that month and referred the investigation to the Attorney General's office in January 2026. None of it involves 2026 ballots.
What to do
Check your absentee ballot status with your town or city clerk. Return it to the clerk or an official drop box by 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
