Misleading: Stolen ballots were dumped on a San Diego County road, which proves mail voting fraud.

California

Election mail found on Lake Wohlford Road near Escondido on Oct. 8 was 12 blank, unvoted mail ballot packets and 14 voter pamphlets, not 27 stolen ballots, according to the San Diego County Registrar of Voters.

The rumor: Misleading “Stolen ballots were dumped on a San Diego County road, which proves mail voting fraud.”

The facts: A driver turned them in to the post office, USPS redelivered them to voters in Pauma Valley and Valley Center, and the case was referred to the Postal Inspection Service. An unvoted ballot cannot be counted for anyone, and the Registrar says there is no evidence of widespread fraud. Track your ballot at california.ballottrax.net, and if it has not arrived, call your county registrar for a replacement.
